In Short:

The Estimator is directly responsible for identifying early-stage projects, completing pre-sales efforts for key projects (take-off’s, estimates, RFI’s, etc), maintaining an understanding of dynamic market conditions, and data management.

We are especially excited to meet candidates with prior construction estimating and project management experience.

This role reports to EMC’s head of BidSpec and will work closely with Product Managers, Division Managers, and members of the Sales Team.

Salary Range: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

Once here you will:

  • Independently complete project take-offs from bid documentation
  • Complete accurate quotations and submittals by analyzing project specifications and plans
  • Professionally communicate with consulting engineers and estimators for RFIs, order updates, and specification influence as required
  • Obtain and record market feedback for projects quoted to understand market conditions and increase overall win rates
  • Organize and maintain project files following departmental processes
  • Review, identify, markup and record all project amendments/changes to ensure accuracy of final proposals
  • Mitigate project based financial risk by maintaining existing lien and other processes
  • Maintain a working understanding of all bidding platforms utilized
  • Utilize vendor and EMC provided bidding processes to produce accurate proposals
  • Identify potential bidding opportunities, programs, and updates using online databases and available resources


  • Prior experience with construction estimating and bidding experience preferred
  • Knowledge of pre-sales customer service practices
  • Ability to become proficient in product lines served (VFD and Power Systems)
