Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 Annually

Your Role and Impact:  The Power Quality Engineer will be at the forefront of EMC’s commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation. In this role, you will be part of the Power Quality Components (PQC) division of EMC.  You will apply your technical expertise in Power Quality to design, analyze, and improve power quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our served and targeted industries, vertical markets, and clients serving those markets.  Your goal is to enhance our footprint in the Power Quality market through innovation, identified and designed in value differentiators, and superior technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary technical stakeholder for the PQC product portfolio.
  • Function as the technical interface to our supplier partners, working with them on product evaluation, performance, and suggestion of improvements to existing product solutions as well as identifying new product needs.
  • Analyze power quality data, diagnose issues, and, working with our partner suppliers, develop engineering solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Develop and implement power quality system analysis tools to capture, analyze, and suggest technical solutions for customer power quality needs, focusing on value differentiation that addresses specific identified issues to give PQC a competitive advantage. 
  • Work closely with the sales and product management teams to provide technical support for pre-sales application support and post-sales activities.
  • Engage in continuous research and development to enhance PQC’s power quality products and services.
  • Provide technical training and support to internal teams and clients on power quality standards, technologies, and best practices.
  • Develop technical documentation, including system designs, test reports, and product manuals, as needed.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of power quality projects from concept through completion.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices in power quality management.
  • Implement EMC’s core values through leadership and by fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous growth, both internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems or related field.
  • Proven experience in power quality analysis, troubleshooting, and mitigation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems, harmonics, power factor, and grounding principles.
  • Familiarity with power quality analysis software and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and engineering simulation software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating EMC’s core values.

Candidates must also be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
