The Big Picture

As an Estimator, you’ll be right at the front end of exciting electrical projects. You’ll help identify new opportunities, build accurate estimates, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and sales teams to win work that matters. If you enjoy digging into plans, working with data, and seeing how projects come together from concept to completion, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Once you’re here, you’ll:

  • Create detailed project take-offs using bid documents and drawings
  • Build accurate quotes and submittals by reviewing specs and plans
  • Communicate with engineers and other estimators to clarify details (RFIs, updates, and changes)
  • Track market trends and feedback to help improve win rates
  • Keep project files organized and up to date
  • Review and document project changes to ensure proposals stay accurate
  • Help reduce financial risk by following lien and project processes
  • Work within multiple bidding platforms and online databases
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to create strong, competitive proposals
  • Spot new bidding opportunities and programs before others do

Position Summary

The Customer Experience Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers while supporting our outside sales representatives and field service technicians. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, preparing quotations, processing orders, coordinating projects, and helping customers identify the best solutions for their industrial electrical equipment and service needs.

This is not a call center position. You'll work directly with manufacturers, contractors, industrial facilities, municipalities, and commercial customers who rely on EMC's expertise to keep their operations running.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and online inquiries.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and process customer orders.
  • Support outside sales representatives and field service technicians with customer requests and project coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive, professional service.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts through consultative selling and proactive outreach.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Maintain accurate customer information within CRM and ERP systems.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of EMC's products, services, and capabilities to confidently recommend solutions.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly while maintaining EMC's commitment to exceptional service.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the industrial and/or electrical industry.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service, inside sales, technical support, customer success, or technical sales experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical products such as electric motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), generators, motor controls, pumps, rotating equipment, or similar industrial products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using CRM and/or ERP software.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.

Preferred

  • Experience with Salesforce, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Epicor, SharpSpring, or similar CRM/ERP platforms.
  • Experience supporting industrial service operations or electrical distribution.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or rotating equipment repair.

We’ve been in business for over 45 years, keeping industry moving by repairing and rebuilding motors, drives, and generators. This is real shop work—no shortcuts, no fluff.

What You’ll Do

  • Tear down, inspect, and rewind AC/DC electric motors and electro-mechanical equipment
  • Prep motors for rewind: strip, clean, burn out, and rebuild
  • Wind coils, cut and form wire, and install insulation systems
  • Run and operate shop equipment (winding machines, surge testers, ovens, grinders, etc.)
  • Assist experienced winders and continue building your skillset
  • Read job cards, follow specs, and hit quality standards every time
  • Help test and troubleshoot finished motors
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
  • Handle heavy components and get the job done right

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in motor winding or electrical/mechanical repair (or strong apprenticeship background)
  • Solid mechanical ability—you know your way around tools and equipment

What You’ll Do

You’ll work in a well-equipped service shop diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding AC/DC motors and rotating equipment. This is hands-on, skilled work where your expertise matters.

  • Diagnose, repair, and rebuild AC and DC motors and electro-mechanical equipment
  • Perform teardown, inspection, and reassembly of motors and components
  • Conduct dynamic balancing of rotors and armatures
  • Replace and repair mechanical components (bearings, seals, brushes, gears, etc.)
  • Use precision tools and testing equipment (megger, surge tester, vibration analysis, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with confidence
  • Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes and test panels
  • Support occasional field service work, including equipment removal and installation
  • Keep accurate job documentation and time records
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
  • Mentor and support junior mechanics as your experience grows

  • Familiarity with vibration analysis (preferred for senior-level candidates)

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to support occasional field work

Directly Reports To: Service Center Manager

Essential Duties: Repairs special and standard AC and DC electro-mechanical equipment. Tools Required

Summary: Is sufficient in repairing numerous AC and DC electro-mechanical equipment and is able to work with a variety of testing tools.

Responsibilities: The following list contains key responsibilities; additional work may be assigned by your manager.

  • Follows relevant work instructions and customer standards.
  • Operates specialized repair and testing equipment.
  • Carries out dynamic balance of rotor and armature assemblies as well as replaces/repairs mechanical parts (e.g. brushes, gears, seals, etc.).
  • Regularly diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Procures special parts per material request form.
  • Oversees that all completed work in their designated area meets EMC quality requirements.
  • Operates Overhead cranes and Medium voltage test panel.
  • Accurately records time on jobs and documents and applies critical information.
  • Completes paperwork accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Operate Fork Trucks (certified); Quality System/Safety Policy trained.
  • Observes all safety procedures and uses proper protective gear. 
  • Lifts, tightens, adjusts and/or secures heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Provides assistance and on-the-job training for Technician Assistants and all Mechanics.
  • Continually looks for ways to streamline and improve processes.
  • Willing and able to drive motor vehicles to and from customer sites.
  • Can project manage occasional field work including removal and installation of serviced equipment.

Qualifications: Preferred minimum level of education: High school diploma, plus two years of experience in repairing electro-mechanical equipment. Other key skills include:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to foster good employee/employer relations.
  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination.
  • Understands motor components and has a basic grasp on electrical theory.
  • Can operate dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, and surge/megger testers.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and adequately carry out a range of physical labor.
  • Valid driver’s license.
