Energy Management Corporation is seeking an individual who can join our corporate accounting team. We are a 44-year-old company who prides itself in being the trusted advisor to our clients.

This position is ideal for an individual who is seeking a flexible work schedule. Ideally, we would like you to work in 4 hour incriminates. We desire someone who has a formal accounting education or direct accounting experience.

Salary: $22 – $24 per hour

Schedule: Day shift, around 20 hours per week, we can work with your schedule

Key responsibilities of a staff accountant:

  • Data entry and record keeping: Accurately inputting financial transactions into the accounting system, maintaining general ledger accounts, and updating financial records. 
  • Account reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy. 
  • Accounts payable/receivable management: Processing invoices, managing customer payments, and following up on outstanding receivables. 
  • Payroll and sales tax filing: Assisting with payroll and sales tax filing’s
  • Fleet Management: Tracking and reporting on company vehicle assignments.
  • Audit preparation: Gathering necessary documentation and supporting information for external audits 
  • Compliance with regulations: Staying updated on accounting standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations 

Skills and qualifications for a staff accountant:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or 4 + years of experience in a like role
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-starter and someone who takes initiative to solve problems
  • Eager for growth opportunities and you seek out ways to gain knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 

Applicants must be able to fulfill the physical duties of the job, which include being able to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Applicants must be able to reach with hands and arms. Applicants must also be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
