Systems Administrator (Part-Time | 15–20 Hours/Week)
Salt Lake City, Utah | Flexible Weekday Schedule
Love keeping systems running smoothly?
We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Systems Administrator who enjoys owning their environment, solving real problems, and keeping IT running securely and reliably—without the burnout of a full-time role.
This is a part-time, on-site position (about 15–20 hours per week) where you’ll be the steady technical presence supporting a mixed Windows/Linux environment, virtualization, and modern tools. Perfect for a seasoned sysadmin looking for flexibility or someone who enjoys meaningful work without the 40-hour grind.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the go-to person for keeping our systems healthy, secure, and well-documented:
- Manage Windows Server environments (Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP)
- Support and maintain Linux servers
- Administer VMware ESXi
- Own backups, disaster recovery planning, and testing
- Support containerized workloads (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus)
- Administer Microsoft 365 / Entra ID
- Implement security best practices, patching, and monitoring
- Support networking infrastructure and work with vendors when needed
- Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support
- Keep documentation, runbooks, and processes clean and current
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of systems administration experience
- Strong Windows Server & Active Directory skills
- Experience administering Linux servers
- VMware ESXi experience
- Solid security fundamentals
- Comfortable working independently and on-site
Nice-to-Haves:
- Hybrid Windows/Linux environments
- CMMC compliance familiarity
- PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
- Docker experience
- Kubernetes or CI/CD exposure
- SMB IT experience
- Relevant certifications
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Guaranteed part-time hours (15–20 per week)
- Flexible weekday schedule
- Real ownership of systems—not just ticket work
- Hands-on technical work with modern infrastructure
- Clear expectations and priorities
- A role that values experience, independence, and good judgment
If you enjoy keeping systems secure, stable, and well-tuned—and want flexibility without sacrificing meaningful work—we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today and help keep our systems running at their best.
