Energy Management Corporation (EMC) headquartered in Salt Lake City, currently has an opening in our Denver Colorado branch for an Industrial Field Service Technician. We are a 44-year-old and growing industrial automation company that sells and services electrical motors, drives, and generators.

The Industrial Field Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance as well as performing start-ups on electric motors, variable frequency drives, and motor control systems.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, able to work well unsupervised with attention to detail, and possess exceptional customer skills.  Team members should be self-motivated with a good mechanical/electrical aptitude and be willing to travel overnight on occasion or over a weekend.

Required Skills:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on electric motors, variable frequency drives, and industrial motor control systems.
  • Trouble-shoot problems on electric motors, variable frequency drives, and industrial motor control systems.
  • Diagnoses problems using a company provided laptop
  • Perform repairs on  electric motors, variable frequency drives, and industrial motor control systems.
  • Performs start-ups on new equipment
  • Performs warranty work on new equipment
  • Process required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Responsible for communicating repairs needed to both the customer and service manager
  • Responsible for parts inventory on service truck
  • Responsible for tracking time and expenses each day
  • Responsible for cleaning up after themselves
  • Willing to participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7 on-call-technician
  • Able to comprehend and troubleshoot from wiring schematics

Preferred Skills:

  • Variable Frequency Drive, AC electric motor, and industrial motor control knowledge.
  • Variable Frequency Drive, AC electric motor, and industrial motor control diagnostic skills
  • Previous experience with motor starters, softstarters and variable frequency drives.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC electrical circuits.
  • Experience with single-phase and three-phase power systems up to 600 VAC
  • Experience with Medium Voltage power systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to train in the company programs to enhance their knowledge of electric motors and motor control systems
  • Trade school education in electronics or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, switchgear and circuit breakers.
  • Experience working with motor controls, starters and variable frequency drives for a minimum of three years

Preferred Certifications:

  • Colorado Journeyman a plus.
  • Motor vibration experience a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in monthly close of accounts to prepare financial statements
  • Work with CFO and department heads to analyze results and answer questions

  • File all state sales tax returns and remit payments
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts; including bank statements and subsidiary ledgers
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Manage corporate vehicle fleet; including registering vehicles and filing and paying IRP and IFTA taxes

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2-5 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail & accuracy; Organized and efficient
  • Ability to work independently & anticipate work needs with minimal direction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while working with various deadlines

The Industrial Generator Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, performing preventive maintenance, and performing start-ups on generator equipment including automatic transfer switches in our customers’ facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Service, repair, modify, diagnosis and rebuild standby power generators.

• Perform preventive maintenance on natural gas and/or diesel generators.

• Preform failure analysis, emergency field service for customers.
• Perform start-ups on new equipment.
• Process required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Responsible for communicating repairs needed to both the customer and service manager.
• Operate, drive and maintain company service truck and parts inventory on truck.
• Furnish current required tools.

What you’ll be doing

This is a technical sales role, leveraging your industry knowledge to showcase our new electrical energy products solutions to clients to help them achieve their energy goals.

Your day-to-day duties include:

  • Evangelising EMC energy solutions and building long-term business relationships
  • Leading discovery sessions with engineers, energy consultants, facility managers, contractors, and end users and provide technical information, strategy, and product demonstrations
  • Reinforcing EMC’s thought leader status in the energy market by leading discussions about trends, regulations, and innovative solutions
  • Perform critical field-based sales and account management tasks
  • From time to time, attend networking events and industry exhibitions
  • This role involves travel. You'll consult with clients, prospects, and influencers in key states

The skills we need

You must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.   You will almost certainly have industry experience in technical sales or consulting and the confidence to lead technical conversations. You will be a quick learner with the confidence to share complex concepts and products to diverse audiences.

Summary: Is sufficient in repairing numerous AC and DC electro-mechanical equipment and is able to work with a variety of testing tools.

  • Follows relevant work instructions and customer standards.
  • Operates specialized repair and testing equipment.
  • Carries out dynamic balance of rotor and armature assemblies as well as replaces/repairs mechanical parts (e.g. brushes, gears, seals, etc.).

  • Oversees that all completed work in their designated area meets EMC quality requirements.

Basic expectations are as follows-

· Work closely with generator service, field engineering and the motor shop managers to schedule calls with customers with appropriate technicians.

· Work with managers to insure completion of SO's through the PMR and billing process. This includes working with vendors on any additional requirements for warranty or start up.

· Coordinate with accounting on customers "On Credit Hold" to avoid incurring additional charges until accounts brought current.

Essential Duties: Carries out a variety of intermediate precision machine tool operation, metal cutting, and grinding work.

Summary: Operates a range of machinery such as lathes, milling machines, drills, etc. and performs a variety of mid-level welding work.

Responsibilities: The following list contains key responsibilities; additional work may be assigned by your manager.

  • Follows relevant work instructions and customer standards.
  • Operates repair/testing equipment.
  • Performs lathe operation (turning, boring, threading).
  • Performs milling operation (e.g. drilling, tapping, boring, etc.).
  • Performs basic metallizing techniques (e.g. metal spraying).
  • Performs tool-post grinding operations and broaching procedures.
  • Brazes, solders, and welds.

We are a 43-year-old and growing industrial automation company that sells and services electrical motors, drives, and generators. We are looking for an innovative, extremely detail-oriented, self-motivated, honest and hardworking individual to join our team.

The Vibration Analyst will partner with personnel from our customer base to maintain and/or improve the reliability of rotating equipment and meet desired facility performance goals. The position requires analyzing and reporting the health of rotating process equipment to proactively identify component, equipment and system issues and recommend corrective actions. Utilization of predictive maintenance programs to include vibration analysis, thermography, PdMA analysis and equipment condition monitoring technologies are critical to the success of this role.

This position works closely with Operations Management, Site Maintenance Personnel, Reliability Specialists and Engineers to identify and resolve rotating equipment related issues.

Salary Range: DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vibration data collection, vibration data analysis, and timely reporting of machine condition findings.
  • Perform routine and emergent data collection needs, to a diverse customer base.
  • Evaluate machinery health, and condition of all types of rotating equipment, through detailed analysis of vibration data.
  • Conduct failure analysis of rotating equipment to determine root causes of failure and help determine solutions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Perform troubleshooting of equipment and instrumentation related to data collection systems.
  • Perform select field services such as changing sheaves and belts.
  • Interface with existing key company stakeholders, to grow business including Automation Specialist, Hydraulic Specialist, Pneumatic Specialist, Field Service Technicians.

This position requires a combination of office work and field work. This position typically requires travel domestically. Accessibility during off-hours is required. The applicant must be physically able to work on and around elevated fixed and rotating equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance of rotating equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Category II certification in vibration analysis
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication, team interaction and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer and standard software experience (MS Office, E-Mail, CMMS, etc.)
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use, application and maintenance of vibration data acquisition software and the diagnostic equipment used to track the health of the site's critical rotating machinery
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze vibration and data
